Hugh Carey II is Chief Executive Officer of ProSmile Management, LLC, he specializes in driving performance and growth initiatives focused on making ProSmile one of the premier dental support organizations.
Prior to joining ProSmile, Hugh was a Senior Director in Alvarez & Marsal’s Healthcare Industry group where he served healthcare organizations in C-Suite and advisory roles. Most notability Hugh was the Interim CFO of a $300 million physical therapy and occupational health provider from April 2019 to July 2020. He helped the company, through the impact of COVID-19, a corporate restructuring, achievement of growth targets by developing strategic de novo selection process, merger integration of acquisitions and implementation of financial transparency. Prior to this he was advising specialty pharmaceuticals company in their sale to and helped manage financial and operational improvements through the sale process including maintaining several key contracts. Also, Hugh was acting CFO of one of the largest behavioral health providers guiding them through their restructuring efforts and sale. In addition to these roles specifically in dental services, Hugh served as a financial advisor a Northeast and mid-Atlantic Platfrom ranging from over 100 offices to 30 offices. Hugh has also led several advisory projects within New York State Department of Health helping craft and develop their financial strategy to manage their State operated facilities to home and community-based services. Additionally, Hugh worked for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Health. Other engagements include Synergy Pharmaceuticals, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, City of Detroit, Jefferson County, and the City of Stockton; and advisory efforts for Bacardi Limited, Chevron Corporation, Flagstar Bank, BancorpSouth, State of South Carolina, and State of Louisiana.
Hugh was appointed by Governor Andrew Cuomo and confirmed by the New York State Senate in June 2014 as a member of the Board of Directors of the Jacob K. Javits Operating Corporation, where he is currently the Vice-Chairman and sits on the Audit and Finance Committees and Chair of Compensation Committee.
Hugh serves on Board of Directors of Catholic Guardian Services, a non-profit organization serving New Yorkers with developmental disabilities, family support services, and foster care/child welfare services.
Prior to joining A&M, Hugh was a former short-term municipal bond trader, at Ramirez & Co, helping manage the day-to-day operations of a multi-billion-dollar portfolio of Auction Rate Securities, origination and trading of the Commercial Paper and Variable Rate Debt Obligations markets. Prior to Ramirez & Co, Hugh held various positions, Goldman Sachs & Co, New York Stock Exchange, and American Stock Exchange.
