Tom Clark, founder and CEO of healthcare marketing platform Banyan, will present on Thursday afternoon on “Managing Patient Reviews.” In this session, Mr. Clark will discuss how to use patient reviews to best promote your practice.

The Association of Dental Support Organizations (ADSO) is excited to host the 2017 Annual ADSO Summit in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The Summit is March 7 through March 10 with presentations, breakout sessions, and networking opportunities beginning March 8.

On Thursday afternoon, Dr. Mark Hodge, Clinical Director for Heartland Dental, will lead the presentation on “Multi-Doctor Dynamics: Fostering an Entrepreneurial, Partnership Mentality between Doctors.” As a nationally recognized speaker on topics of patient communications and team engagement, Dr. Hodge has been featured in multiple videos and educational resources designed to help practices improve their case acceptance. Dr. Hodge now turns his focus to helping doctors and teams navigate healthy relationships and futures in a multi-doctor environment.

Dr. Hodge received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 1985 from the Michael Cardone, Sr. School of Dentistry at Oral Roberts University. Throughout his 30+ year dental career, he has worked exclusively in a multi-doctor environment, including 26 harmonious years with the same dental partner. Six of those multi-doctor practice years included working in a DSO environment, supported by Heartland Dental.  Since affiliating with Heartland Dental in 2011, Dr. Hodge has served in various leadership and educations positions.

A number of speakers are lined up to present during this year’s conference, including member company CEOs, dentists and industry experts. Dr. Gregory Heintschel, CEO of My Community Dental Centers (MCDC) will speak on Thursday afternoon on “Balancing Patient Experience, Profitability & Clinical Quality”.  This course is intended for the innovative healthcare team interested in developing a balanced business model that puts patient care, and patient experience on par with performance.

MCDC is a nonprofit dental services organization focused on providing exceptional care to the underserved.  Dr. Heintschel spent 20 years in private practice before joining MCDC. Mr. LaGanza’s expertise is in state government relations where he has extensive experience in both lobbying and political strategy. Prior to founding Cameron Government Relations, Mr. LaGanza was Vice President and Director of state government relations at Genworth Financial as well as the Vice President of Legislative Affairs at GE Financial Assurance.

The Association of Dental Support Organizations Announces Election of Members to the Executive Committee

At their November 10th meeting, the Association of Dental Support Organizations (ADSO) Board of Directors elected thirteen members to serve on the 2016-2017 Executive Committee.   The thirteen members elected reflect the Board’s commitment to ADSO’s mission to support its members through research, education and advocacy, enabling them to foster innovation, collaboration, and a vibrant market where DSO-supported dentists can provide quality oral health care.   “We are very fortunate to have members who are strongly dedicated to advancing ADSO’s mission,” said ADSO President Mike Bileca.  Ten of the current Executive Committee members were re-elected while three new members were added:

Dr. Alan J. Acierno is the CEO of DecisionOne Dental.  Dr. Acierno graduated in 2001 from Creighton University Dental School and began practicing with a large DSO in Peoria, Illinois.  In 2003, he returned home to Chicago to head his own private practice.  In 2012, he founded DecisionOne Dental Partners.  Read more here.

Registration for the Summit Opens Today!

Today, the ADSO opened registration for the 2017 ADSO Summit which be held at The Walt Disney World Swan in Lake Buena Vista, Florida. The conference will begin Tuesday, March 7 and conclude Friday afternoon, March 10.

The event is limited to ADSO members only and invited guests.  Learn about becoming a member here.  DSO members receive four complementary registrations and ADSO Industry Partner members get two free registrations.  Members are encouraged to register early as the 2016 Summit was sold-out with more than 750 attendees!

Association of Dental Support Organizations Announces Incoming President, Mike Bileca

The Association of Dental Support Organizations (ADSO) is pleased to announce Michael Bileca of Dental Care Alliance as the new President of the ADSO effective June 1.  He will also be serving as the interim Executive Director. Outgoing President, Steve E. Thorne, IV, Founder, President and CEO of Pacific Dental Services has served as the ADSO President during the past year and will continue to serve on the Executive Committee.

Currently an executive at Dental Care Alliance, Mr. Bileca is former President and Founder of Towncare Dental Partnership, Inc., which was merged with Dental Care Alliance in 2013.  In addition, Mr. Bileca was elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2010.

“I am honored to be named President of the ADSO and to work with such a committed group of professionals who care so deeply about the future of this industry,” said Bileca. “I also want to thank Steve Thorne for his leadership and commitment to the association.  He has made significant and lasting contributions as President and as a founding member of the largest association of dental support organizations in the country.”
