Industry CEOs to Present During Emerging DSO Conference

The Association of Dental Support Organizations (ADSO) will host the first ever Partnering for Growth 2017 conference at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center near Washington, D.C. The conference, taking place from September 21-22, will provide educational content that is geared specifically to connect with small & emerging groups, and share best practices to grow in the DSO industry.

Next Thursday, there will be a CEO Leadership Panel session where the industry’s top leaders will share best practices and provide invaluable insights in growing and developing DSOs.  Executives from some of the top DSOs in the country will present their DSO’s key differentiators as well as instruct how emerging DSOs can replicate their success.  This session will also allow for interactive discussion, permitting audience participation and questions.

Speakers during this session include:

Rich Beckman became the Chief Executive Officer of Great Expressions Dental Centers (GEDC) in 1998, with the charge of growing GEDC into a national DSO. Under his guidance and leadership, GEDC has grown from a Michigan based DSO with 21 dental centers, to an elite DSO with over 235 practices across ten states with revenue exceeding $300 million.  GEDC is one of the largest DSO’s in the United States and currently has over 125,000 unique patient visits a month and offers all facets of dental care to its valued patients. The Company provides full service dental care to blue collar and middle class patients who have some level of insurance coverage or who need dental care at an affordable price.

Doug Brown has led large Dental Support Organizations (DSOs) since 1998 and in April 2011 he assumed the CEO role for Affordable Care, Inc. (ACI), a DSO based in Raleigh, North Carolina. ACI provides business services to 220+ dental practice affiliates in 40 states. Fifteen years ago, Doug brought together a group of industry leaders, which led to the formation of the ADSO. He has served in various leadership positions within the ADSO, and he currently serves as Co-Chairman of the Government Affairs Committee. Doug previously worked for Arthur Young & Company, several large retail companies, and a management consulting firm that he co-founded.

Steve Spellman joined Midwest Dental Support Center as President in 2013. He was promoted to Chief Executive Officer in May of 2014. In his role, he helps drive continued growth of the business and expand upon its already strong reputation in the dental care community. Steve has played a key role in developing long-term strategies for many top organizations and has a proven track record of process improvement that has made strong businesses even stronger. Steve previously served as Vice President of Finance for Best Buy’s Services business unit, commonly known as Geek Squad, and also held positions with United Healthcare, Sun Country Airlines and Champion Air.

Scotte Hudsmith serves as Chief Executive Officer of Smile Doctors, LLC., overseeing the executive management team as the company expands its unique orthodontics experience across the U.S. Since Hudsmith joined the organization in 2014, Smile Doctors has grown from two Austin-area locations to nearly 40 locations in five states. Hudsmith has more than 25 years of corporate leadership experience, including executive roles in finance, operations, business development and sales and marketing. He specializes in developing and implementing growth strategies in healthcare companies that are private equity backed and has extensive experience coordinating mergers and acquisitions.

The presentation will be based on the foundational principle of building trust with the patient, and will cover setting up a systematic approach that is duplicable, scalable, and immediately implemental from a single doctor in a single practice to hundreds of doctors across many practices.

Benevis to Lead Workshop on Evolving Compliance Programs at Partnering for Growth Conference

Mr. Oreffice joined Benevis in 2006 and serves as the company’s Sr. Vice President of Compliance and Government Relations. A 17 year veteran of the American Association of Orthodontics, an international dental specialty association, Mr. Vranas has an extensive career managing associations as a data-driven organization that keeps the leadership in a strategic position to maintain relevance in a constantly changing environment.

ADSO President Michael Bileca to Present on Principles of Leadership at Partnering for Growth 2017 Conference

DSOs are invited to attend the Association of Dental Support Organizations (ADSO) first ever Partnering for Growth 2017 conference in Washington, D.C. The conference, taking place at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center from September 21-22, will provide educational content that is geared specifically to connect with small & emerging groups, and share best practices to grow in the DSO industry.

Attendees will have the unique opportunity to hear from a number of speakers during this year’s conference including member company CEOs, dentists, and industry experts. ADSO President Michael Bileca will kick off the morning sessions on the 21st with a workshop on the fundamental principles of personal and team leadership, principles that apply to DSOs of all sizes.

“The Partnering for Growth conference is the premier DSO event of the year for smaller and emerging DSOs to come together and meet with the DSO industry veterans,” said Mr. Bileca. “It’s a chance to cultivate relationships, learn from one another and share new ideas. A recognized leader in the industry and in the community, Mr. Bileca is an executive at Dental Care Alliance and former President and Founder of Towncare Dental Partnership, Inc. which was merged with Dental Care Alliance in 2013. He was also managing partner of a consulting company that specialized in organizational alignment and performance based heavily on Dr. Stephen Covey’s work. Mr. Bileca was elected to the Florida Legislature in 2010 and currently serves in Florida House of Representatives.
