The Association of Dental Support Organizations (ADSO) today announced Lisa Steelman as ADSO’s new Vice President of Government Affairs. Lisa will join ADSO’s Government Relations Leadership Team that advocates on behalf of the association at the federal, state and local levels.
“My career has always reflected my passion for ensuring patient access to medical care. I have worked in health policy and regulatory issues my entire career. I’m grateful now for this opportunity to advocate for increased patient access to quality dental care as a critical component to overall healthcare,” said Steelman.
Prior to joining ADSO, Lisa served as a member of the executive leadership team for IlliniCare where she served as a key advisor to the CEO during a critical RFP period worth over $2Billion annually. Lisa has worked in both the private and public sector while advocating on healthcare issues, beginning her career as a legislative staffer to the Illinois General Assembly and the Office of the Governor. At Janssen Pharmaceuticals/Johnson & Johnson, she became a national President’s Trophy Winner, a designation reserved for the top 5-percent performers. Lisa later moved to Novartis Pharmaceuticals where she served as Regional Director, Government Relations. During her tenure, she was also elected by industry peers to serve as the Chairman for the Illinois PhRMA Task Force.
Additionally, she founded her own company, Lisa Steelman Enterprises, a consulting firm that specializes in healthcare and government relations issues.
“Lisa’s wide-ranging knowledge and background in healthcare policy will serve to advance our priorities in Washington and around the country,” said Chris Vranas, Executive Director of ADSO. “We look forward to working with new leadership, and are confident that Lisa’s expertise will help to ensure that we remain an effective and constructive voice for the DSO industry.”
